RFP Grant Information

Grant Amounts: Up to $2,400,000 will be awarded to each grantee

Based on available funding, NMSI and the Institute will award and administer 5-year grants for up to 1.4 million dollars and also provide matching funds toward an endowment of up to 1 million dollars at the end of the final grant period.

• Plan Period: Award Range: up to $100,000
• Year 1 operations: Award range: $100,000 - $250,000
• Year 2 operations: Award range: $100,000 - $350,000
• Year 3 operations: Award range: $100,000 - $350,000
• Year 4 operations: Award range: $100,000 - $350,000
• End of final grant award: Endowment matching funds up to $1,000,000

Grant awards will be reviewed annually and are dependent on successful implementation of the UTeach Elements of Success (Appendix A) and the commitment and ability to become self-supporting over the course of the five-year grant period.

Number of Grant Awards

NMSI anticipates that approximately 10 non-profit institutions of higher education will be selected to receive up to $2,400,000 in grant awards ranging from $100,000 to $350,000 each year. The actual number of grants awarded and grant amounts will depend upon available funding and the quality of the applications received.
