UTeach Institute Annual Conferences

Each year, usually in late in May, the UTeach Institute hosts a conference in Austin, Texas. The UTeach Institute Annual Conference provides valuable opportunities for learning more about UTeach and our progress in replicating this nationally recognized program. The conference serves a variety of audiences which may include teams from the current cohort of replication sites, other interested universities, donors and foundations, and universities working through the RFP process. The conference is organized into a curriculum strand and an operational strand.

UTeach Replication Sites

For the current cohort of replication sites, universities send teams representing all aspects of their UTeach program such as co-directors, master teachers, faculty, staff, development officers and university officials. At the conference, replication site teams attend focused curriculum and operational sessions and share their progress, lessons learned, and successes in the effort so far. The conference serves as a platform for strengthening the national UTeach community and provides a mechanism for collaboratively improving and refining the program.

Interested Universities

For attendees that are interested in learning more about UTeach and the replication effort, the conference offers overview sessions that present the history, development and success of the UTeach program as well as general information regarding the start up, operations and curriculum.

Grant Applicants

If the conference falls on a year in which a request for proposals has been issued, the conference serves to further inform applicant universities about the UTeach program and the RFP process. As part of the selection process, each applicant university will be interviewed at an appointed time during the conference or pre-conference. When not participating in their interview, applicant university teams are encouraged to attend the overview sessions.
